Week 3

Week 3 was one full of adventure and tears (mostly tears from D...only a couple from me). I think we have all the bugs worked out and this week already seems to be 100 times better. On Tuesday, I went out for the first time on my own in over 2 weeks. I went to Target to get some "mom supplies" that I was in need of. It was only for an hour, because D's not on a bottle yet. I shed a few tears as I walked out of my in-laws house, but it was kind of a relief to be alone for a few minutes. At Target, I felt like I heard every baby's cry... It wasn't something I ever noticed as much as I do. Kind of like a 6th sense...More like an expansion of my hearing sense. It was super weird. We went out for our first time together on Wednesday for Dante's hearing test and he passed. (YEAY!) He didn't cry while we were out and it was awesome! Tuesday day and Thursday were full of tears. It went on all day long. If he was awake, he cried. I'd get him to sleep and try to set him down, and within 20 minutes, he was crying again. We didn't do anything. I came to the conclusion that he has belly issues.  On Friday, we saw D's doctor and got all of his stats. We also talked about his constant tears and potential belly issues. The doctor suggested that we try the gas drops and keep him on an incline after he eats. This and getting rid of the first little bit of milk before he eats has helped a lot. He eats longer and seems to be happier.
D has started taking the binky! (A blessing and a curse!) We actually went out and bought a couple of different kinds, and it seems like the soothies work the best for him. He forgets that he has to suck on them to keep them in his mouth, so to keep it from falling out, he's started to use his hand/wrist to hold it in.
We went to church on Sunday. We only stayed for Sacrament Meeting, because we were worried about D waking up. He slept the whole time. It was awesome!
Here are D's stats as of Friday- 7 pounds 13 ounces, (+10 ounces since birth) and 21" long (+1" since birth). He measured in the 50th percentile for height and head circumference and 25th in weight. I think that now we've got the kinks worked out with his eating/belly problems, we should see his weight gain pick up a little bit.
Now for the good part:

Notice that he's naked in the majority of these pictures. There are two reasons: He has had explosive poops that go through his diapers and annihilate his onesies, and he just seems happier that way the majority of the time. We joke that this is a "Fuentes thing" because our nephews seemed to like being without clothes better than they liked being dressed. Maybe it's more of an "everyone thing". =)

Proof that he does cry...

These are "sassy" faces...

I wanted to show off the back of his head.
Look how much hair he has!

Pictures before a bath...

After the bath... See how happy he is?

Just waking up from a nap

This is what we call "aut".
